Colorectal Polyps
These are small growths within the large intestine that appear as raised irregular areas along the lining of the intestine. There are many different types of polyps and many of them are pre-cancerous, which means that there is potential for these types of polyps to turn into colorectal cancer after a number of years. During colonoscopy, the aim is to remove these polyps before they turn cancerous.
